Weekend Transit Rockland to Greens Island
July 25 - 26, 2026

Saturday July 25, 9am - Meet at the Apprenticeshop dock. Sail and row our gig, LOYAUTÉ to Greens Island (13 miles). At low tide in the afternoon, we will set up the boat ramp to the Naust (the Boathouse).

Sunday July 26 - We will launch the gig HUMANITÉ in the morning at high tide. Secure both boats to the mooring and dock. Take the ferry at 2:45pm from Vinalhaven, arriving in Rockland at 4pm.

Meals: Participants will bring their own lunch on Saturday. AC will provide dinner on Saturday night and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

Ferry tickets: Participants will purchase their own ferry tickets, one half of a 2 pass ticket shared with another crew member is $11.50.

Payment covers: Instruction, Insurance, Equipment (lifejackets, first aid kits, toilet paper, propane, etc), Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch, Powerboat safety boat and fuel.

Sliding Scale Tuition:

Our sliding scale reflects the belief that financial resources, including income, should not be the sole determining factor in accessing our program. Participants with greater financial means who are able to contribute at a higher level help make the program more accessible to others. We offer three sliding-scale tuition rates based on household annual income. Please select the rate that best reflects your current financial capacity. Choosing a higher rate, when possible, directly supports participants who require additional assistance. If the number of reduced-rate requests exceeds available funds, we will work together to fundraise to ensure the program can move forward.

Baseline rate: $150
Supportive rate: $180
Reduced rate: $120

Work trade, and limited financial aid is available.
Please email us about work-trade opportunities. Or please fill out this financial aid form.
