Meet Riley!

A native of Gig Harbor, Washington, Riley Hall grew up taking to the water on an assortment of garage scrap vessels and racing Optis and Lasers on the junior sailing circuit. After joining the Tacoma Sea Scouts he started sailing year round on the 90ft 1938 wooden yawl, Odyssey. 

Soon drawn to the clunk of the oars and the sleek grace of simplicity, he got involved with the West coast gig, Verité, and participated as a crew member in the AC Contests of 2010 and 2012. He trained the US team from 2014-2018. 

After graduating from the International Yacht Restoration School in 2012, Riley restored S-class and Herreshoff yachts in Bristol, Rhode Island for seven years. He also designed and built a fleet of delightful tiny boats from a single sheet of plywood. 
 
He currently lives in Gig Harbor, Washington and works as a Preservation Specialist for the Harbor History Museum rebuilding the 65-foot fishing vessel, Shenandoah.
 
Along with his clever mind, and wealth of boatbuilding skills, Riley brings an adventurous spirit and sparkling good humor to every situation!
